AYUSH treatments, which include Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, were brought under health insurance coverage starting April 1, 2024. This decision by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) aims to treat AYUSH treatments equally with other medical treatments in health insurance policies due to their growing popularity. Insurance companies are required to have board-approved policy guidelines for AYUSH coverage, allowing policyholders to choose their preferred treatment option.
